Born in patna 20 the october 1969, Dr Deepak goswami graduated in medicine and did his post graduation in medicine.during this period of his education he started painting in his spare time,by the time he finished his MBBS he started exhibiting his paintings.He is a self taught painter.His medium is mainly oil ,acrylic and mixed media on canvas .

The paintings he created can be divided into three periods-
First period was when the works depicted a lost civilisation obsessed with the imagery of decay of a time ravaged past which were mainly oil on canvas made during his internship period in medicine.Although there is no correlation between the two, these works were exhibited in a group show organised by united nations aginst drug abuse which incuded prominent artists of india in 1994 in gallery ganesha,new delhi.
Second period was during practising medicine and painting simultaneously,as the urge to create could not be supressed.during this period there was as expressed by prominent author santo dutta "a heartening emergence of an individual style and a painterly mode of making personal statements " and about his works as "a medical practitioner by profession young deepak has been tirlessly working with canvas paint and brush ,still in his formative years ,the young painter seems to be working his way through numerous painterly techniques and ways of figuration and the amorphous ideas ,impressions and emotional responses to life all that urged him to take up the paint" .
Third period is the present period during which the material objects which includes human beings,horses ,complex objects,musical instruments etc suspended in space and time defying gravity fascinates the artist.
